HomeHero is a smart home business-to-business-to-customer platform that uses technology to streamline household administration. The company prides itself on fostering an internal culture where colleagues trust, respect, and support one another. In 2020, HomeHero sought an agency to create a culture video marketing project that captured this essence while avoiding dull and conventional approaches.
After evaluating five other agencies, Beacon was awarded the account. When asked about her selection process, HomeHero's then-Head of Communications, Nana Wereko-Brobby, explained why she chose Beacon for this project.
“We wanted an agency that was both creatively talented and affordable, and most importantly, we wanted to avoid producing a stiff, grey, and unoriginal film,” she stated. “Beacon provided us with a detailed proposal that included three unique concepts for the film, whereas every other agency just submitted a generic portfolio. They offered video marketing options that suited our budget and proposed a long-term strategy to help extend the content's reach. They also aligned with our values.”

We initially presented three concepts centred around creating a portrait series that included narration and quickfire questions. After further consultation, we selected the best elements from all three to develop the final marketing video format, which we then scripted, recorded, and edited.
The video was filmed seamlessly in one day during a shoot in London, led by our dedicated videographer, with support from the artistic direction and interviewing conducted by the Beacon team. Many HomeHero employees appeared in the video.
By positioning the camera as the viewpoint of a new starter, we crafted a compelling narrative that guided viewers through the culture at HomeHero. The video features unscripted conversations and candid moments with the team, effectively capturing the essence of HomeHero’s culture in a powerful and beautiful way.
